National Academy of Medical Sciences, situated inMangsir, was initially known as the BIR Hospital. It is the first private institution to undertake the program of teaching medical courses to undergraduate students in Nepal. It is established by the Government of Nepal and hasbeen affiliated to CTEVT. The founding idea of the college was to establish an institution providing Total Health Education System in Nepal.

Eligibility for admission into:

  1. Master of Nursing (MNS): The willing candidate must have completed their bachelor’s degree in health science or in any similar course program with not less than 50% from the recognized college/university. For MN/MPH , two years of teaching experience or clinical experience after completion of bachelor’s degree course is required. The course fee is about 10-13lac INR.
  2. Bachelor of Medical Science (BMS):Must have completed 10+2 or equivalent degree course with English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry with not less than 50% aggregate and in each subject from recognized institution. The course fee for this program is 12-18lac INR.
  3. MD/MS/MDS: A MBBS/BDS degree from recognized institutes and the candidate must have completed their one year of compulsory internship with the Medical Council of Nepal. The course fee for this program is 7-13lac INR
  4. MN/MPH: A MBBS/BDS degree from recognized institutes and the candidate must have completed their one year of compulsory internship with the Medical Council of Nepal.The candidate must have two years of teaching experience or clinical experience. The course fee for this program is 10-13lac INR.
  5. DM: The candidate must have completed their MD from recognised medical institutions. The Medical Council of Nepal must approve of such degree. The course fee for this program is around 20-40lac INR.
  6. MCH: The candidate must have their MS degree from recognized medical institution. The Medical Council of Nepal must approve of such degree. The course fee for this program is around 20-40 lac INR.
  7. M.Sc. MLT: Candidate must have a 50% aggregate minimum in completion of bachelor of health sciences or any equivalent course under a recognised university, accredited by the Medical Council of Nepal.
  8. B.Sc. MIT: Must have completed 10+2 or equivalent degree course(Intermediate Science)with English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry with not less than 50% aggregate and in each subject from recognized institution.The course fee for this program is 12-13lac INR.
  9. BPH: Must have completed 10+2 or equivalent degree course with English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry with not less than 50% aggregate and in each subject from recognized institution. The course fee for this program is 12-15lac INR.
  10. Bachelor of Nursing Sciences: Students have to appear for the entrance test conducted by Institute of Medicine, Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences and must be placed in the merit list. They must have completed their PCL nursing and have two years of teaching and/or clinical experience. The course fee for this program is around 12-13 lac INR
