Karnali Academy of Health Sciences : Aim to Heal

Situated in  Karnali of Tinkune,  Kathmandu, Nepal and established in 2011, Karnali Academy of Health Sciencesfollows the guidelines of the Nepal Government .

It is a government university and hence the admission criteria is very strict, and the course fee is usually quite affordable. The University has been brought up with the motto of providing quality medical education to people in the backward areas of Nepal.

Prime Minister of Nepal is the chancellor of this public university and the Minister of Education, Government of Nepal is the pro-chancellor. Mr. Dharma KantaBaskotais the Vice Chancellor of the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.

Karnali Academy of Health Sciencesuses a semester system. All degrees assume studies in English medium interface.

There are Three disciplinary schools associated with the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.

   1. School of Medicine

Eligibility for admission into Karnali Academy of Health Sciences:

The following conditions and criterion must be met by the willing candidate for acceptance into Karnali Academy of Health Sciences into the MBBS course. These standards have been set following the strict guidelines of  Government of Nepal :

1. The candidate must have completed their 17 years of age.
2. They must have passed their 10+2 standard or Intermediate of Science (I.Sc) with English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry and their major subjects and must not have less than 50% marks in the average aggregate calculated on the basis of these major subjects.

OR

Have completed a bachelor’s degree in any of the subjects: Physics, Chemistry or Biology (B.Sc) from a recognised University, and has studied one other science subject till the ancillary level , with not less than a 50% aggregate and meets the above condition and aggregate requirements of the 10+2 standard.

• Resident Nepali students have to take the entrance exam, which is considered to be the determinant of merit for admission to this college followed by an interview. Students who are applying from foreign countries and Non Resident Nepali students will have to forward their application to the college for perusal and acceptance of their admission into Karnali Academy of Health Sciences. Such documents will be needed to get authorized from the Ministry of External Affairs of the student’s resident country and by the Embassy of Nepal. The students of India will have to score pass marks in NEET UG exams.
