Eligibility for admission to College of Medical Sciences:

To be accepted into the College of Medical Sciences for the MBBS degree in Nepal, the willing candidate must meet the following qualifications and criteria. These prerequisites were created in compliance with the strict standards of Kathmandu University:

1. The candidate must have reached the age of seventeen.

2. They must have completed their 10+2 standard or Intermediate of Science (I.Sc) with English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as major subjects, with a minimum of 50% in the average aggregate calculated using these major subjects.

OR

Have earned a bachelor’s degree in one of the following science disciplines (B.Sc) from a recognised university, and have studied one other science subject until the ancillary level, with a minimum aggregate of 50%, and meet the above criterion and aggregate requirements of the 10+2 standard.

3. Students who live in Nepal must take the KUMET/KUCAT-CBT exam, It is used to determine merit for admission to this college, followed by an interview at the self-financed College of Medical Sciences. International students and non-resident Nepali students must submit their applications to the college for review and acceptance of their admission into the College of Medical Sciences. Such documents will need to be approved by the student’s home country’s Ministry of External Affairs as well as the Nepalese Embassy.

MBBS: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery

The College of Medical Sciences offers basic medical sciences for the first two academic years, with an emphasis on interdepartmental integration and clinical and community linkage following MBBS curriculum in Nepal.

Clinical subjects, community medicine, and forensic medicine will be studied over the next one and a half years of medical course in Nepal, starting in the third academic year, while all clinical subjects, as well as health management, community field experience, and junior clinical clerkship, will be studied until the end of Kathmandu University’s four-and-a-half-year MBBS curriculum in Nepal.
