Admission to Lumbini Medical College is through an entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Medicine, Nepal. The entrance examination is held in the month of August every year.

To be eligible for the entrance examination, candidates must have completed at least 17 years of age and have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects. Candidates who have appeared in the final year of 10+2 examination can also apply.

The entrance examination consists of two parts – a written examination and an interview. The written examination is of three hours duration and consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. The interview is of 15 minutes duration and is conducted to assess the communication skills and general aptitude of the candidates.

Candidates who qualify in the entrance examination are required to appear for a counselling session conducted by the Institute of Medicine. They are allotted seats in the college on the basis of their rank in the entrance examination.

• The college offers a four-year Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program. The program is designed to provide the students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become successful doctors. The first two years of the program are focused on the basic medical sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. The last two years of the program are focused on the clinical sciences such as medicine, surgery, and obstetrics and gynecology.

  In addition to the MBBS program, the college also offers a three-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program. The program is designed to provide the students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become successful dentists. The first year of the program is focused on the basic dental sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. The last two years of the program are focused on the clinical sciences such as dental surgery, periodontics, and orthodontics.
• The college also offers a one-year Master of Surgery (MS) program. The program is designed to provide the students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become successful surgeons. The program is divided into four semesters. The first semester is focused on the basic surgical sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. The second semester is focused on the clinical sciences such as surgery, medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology. The third semester is focused on the research methods and statistics. The fourth semester is focused on the thesis.
