1. Medical (MBBS) and Dental (BDS) courses

So, this common entrance exam Nepal is a must for students to take medical UG courses.

For the courses that involve Dental courses, this exam is a must for the students. Now, the exam has some criteria which a student needs to appear in this exam.

The criteria are as follows:

  1. Students must have studied the subjects Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, in their classes XI and XII.
  2. A student must secure 50% marks in the subject of biology.
  3. Students must have secure 50% marks in the subjects physics and chemistry.
  4. Students must also score 50% marks in aggregate.

Now, to appear for the exam, they need to study these subjects. The exam carries 200 marks, with all the questions are of MCQ (multiple choice questions) type. Each question carries 1 mark.

The passing marks for qualification are 50% and there are no negative markings in the exam. So, there is no worry of getting into trouble and you can at least attempt all the questions.

The time allotted for the exam is 3 hours. Each subject contains marks like that in biology it is of 80 marks. In physics, questions will carry 50 marks and the same for chemistry, which also contains 50 marks.

The mental agility test contains 20 marks. In biology, you have to study zoology, which again contains 40 marks. In zoology, you need to study a few topics that include Origin and evolution of life, human biology, animal tissue, environmental pollution, adaptation, are a few of the topics that are needed to study eloquently.

2. BSc in Nursing

BSc in Nursing is a 4 years course. It is available in different colleges.

BSc Nursing is a course that enables students to carry on their studies in the medical field especially caring for patients. The students must go for the common entrance exam in Nepal and must qualify in the exam.

It is also a respectable job in the medical field. Students will be taught about the care and handling of health care for the patients.

For pursuing studies in BSc in Nursing, students need to study biology as a mandatory subject in their Class XII.

The selection of the students is done completely on the entrance basis. The exam is conducted in August and September and the classes begin in November.

3. B. Pharmacy in Nepal

One of the streams that one can pursue under biological sciences is that of Pharmacy.  This stream will allow you to study medicines in a detailed view.

Bachelors in Pharmacy or B. Pharmacy, offers students to carry their dream of getting into the professional world of medicine.

Now, in Nepal, Pharmacy courses are of 2 years, which is a Diploma in Pharmacy, 4 years of B. pharmacy. One can also pursue higher studies in pharmacy.

In Nepal, some renowned colleges offer courses in pharmacy. Like in the MBBS in this stream also, students must study PCB ( Physics, Chemistry, Biology ) or PCM ( physics, chemistry, mathematics ).

Pharmaceutical science is responsible for making medicines, ointments, and other drugs.

4. BSc MLT (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology)

Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology in Nepal offers students, to be a professional in providing manpower in various field of medicine. It is a 4 years course.

5. B.sc MIT (Bachelor in science in Medical Imaging technology)

This course aims to provide detailed images from various anatomical and physiological parts of the human body. The course duration is 4 years.

Technology like X-rays, MRI, and Ultrasonography is used to study different images of the human anatomical parts.

6. B. perfusion technology

It is the study where students will get the information on how to support the pulmonary and cardiac systems. Bachelor in perfusion technology is of 4 years of course duration.

Professionals in this field can support critically ill patients in the time of organ transplant.

Criteria are the same in this stream as a student must have completed his class XI and XII with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with 50% marks.

7. BASLP

Bachelor of audiology speech-language pathology is the course duration of 4 years. It deals with the treatment of audio and language difficulty in both children and adults.

The criteria are the same for this course as the other courses mentioned above. 

The merit list is published completely based on the entrance exam. Students can get employment in old age homes, schools, or any organization.

8. B. optometry

This course offers students optics that is contact lenses, eye-related work. This is also of 4 years course duration.

It is one of the top-earning professions in the country and students can get benefit highly. The criteria for getting into this stream are the same as mentioned above.

9. BNS (Bachelors in Nautical Science)

This undergraduate course is for 3 years. This stream offers students to work in the marine field. It will teach academic and practical work to the students to get ready to go in the marine field.

Students must have study physics, chemistry, and mathematics with at least scoring 60% marks.

10. BAMS (Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medical and Surgery)

It is a basic doctor course in the field of ayurvedic. The course will be of 6 years duration. The criteria are to get 50% in the physics, chemistry, and biology in the class XII exam.

The students are selected based on the entrance exam.

Students can also go for higher studies in this field. They can go for MD, Ph.D., etc from here. The aim is to provide good knowledge of herbal and ayurvedic medicine.
