About BPKIHS

B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) is a public medical college and research institute located in Dharan, Nepal. The institute was founded in 1993 and is named after the late Prime Minister B.P. Koirala. BPKIHS is affiliated with the Tribhuvan University and is the first medical college in Nepal to offer an undergraduate degree in medicine.

The institute provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in various disciplines of health sciences, including medicine, nursing, dental, engineering, public health, and medical education. BPKIHS also has a hospital with a capacity of 500 beds that provides medical and emergency services to the surrounding community.

The BPKIHS admissions process typically begins in October or December. The first step is to register online through a trusted educational consultancy. After registration, the student is eligible to apply for admission. The student must submit their application form along with the required documents, such as an original copy of the SLC mark sheet, citizenship certificate, passport size photos, and other relevant documents.

Eligibility criteria of B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences

In order to gain admission to BPKIHS, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Applicants must have passed the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
2. Applicants must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
3. Applicants must have passed the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
4. Applicants must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test conducted by BPKIHS.
5. Applicants must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the interview conducted by the institute.
6. Applicants must have obtained a valid medical registration certificate.
7. Applicants must have obtained a valid work permit issued by the Nepal Government.

Exam structure for MECEE BL Course in Nepal in 2023

The total mark for all the categories in entrance exam is 200. A Common question paper will be there for Day 1 and for Day 2 and 3 there will be specific question papers for each academic program.

Exam duration will be 3 hours. Candidates must appear in the exam centre at least half an hour before the given time.
