Notice for Foreign Candidates For Common Entrance Examination of DM/MCH

Medical Education Commission calls the online application to select candidates on the basis of merit for the following DM/MCH programs run by different Universities and Health Science Academies throughout the country. The online application is called from all eligible foreign candidates from July 6, 2023, 10:00 AM to July 19, 2023, through web portal of Medical Education Commission https://entrance.mec.gov.np:81/Account/Login.

1. Programs and Minimum Qualification

The Candidate with Specialty subject in MD in (For example: MD Cardiology, MD Nephrology etc) and MS  (For example: MS Urology, MS Neurosurgery etc) shall be eligible only in DM/MCH in respective subject only.

Note:   There is provision for editing application and saving the online application form before submission. Application once submitted cannot be edited. However, applications can apply fresh all over again by uploading new bank voucher.

• Required digitized documents :
• Last six digits of transaction reference number (TRN/request unique ID/Transaction code) and application mobile number.
• Recent passport size photograph.
• Passport or Aadhaar card.
• Scan copy/photo of signature.
• Transcript of relevant masters’ degree or equivalent.
• Medical council specialty registration certificate of respective country.

• Quality of applicant’s photo and scanned documents :
• Photo of applicant
• Image file format:  The image must be in the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) format with good quality.
• Image file size:  The maximum image file size is 200KB (kilobytes).
• Resolution:  Should not be crispy or blurry.
• Certificate / Documents
• File Format:   JPEG or PDF
• Resolution:   Should not be crispy or blurry.
• File size:  The maximum file size is 200KB for JPEG and 500 KB for PDF.

• Procedure and Instruction for online profile creation and submission of the application
• Procedure of profile creation:
• Candidates should first create a profile using their email ID and password, this profile will be used for future
• Enter the login/register page by browsing MEC’s online application web portal https://entrance.mec.gov.np:81/Account/Login in the web browser and click don’t have an account? Register here button and click on Nationality Foreign in case of foreign applicants and fill in applicant’s Full Name, Email, Contact Number, Password, Confirm Password and click on register button to create profile user.
• A message for email ID verification will be sent to the email address mentioned while creating profile. After logging in your email and clicking on the verification link, email account will be verified and activated.
• Candidate have to log-in by putting the email mentioned in the User Name box and the Password set while registering in the Password box.
• When log-in the candidate’s profile for the first time, if the profile is not verified /activated then the message “Please verify your email to continue” will be displayed and you will have to click on the link in the email message received on the registered email address and verify your email ID. If the email verification message is not received in the registered email, you have to log-in to the profile and click on the Resend button next to the message please verify your email to continue and go to the email ID and verify your email ID according to the above process.
• After the email id verified, you will have to re-login to the online system of the Common Entrance Examination of the Medical Education Commission and enter the main dashboard.
• For preparing the profile for the first time candidate have to pay the prescribed fees and then other details can be filled, so you have to click on the make Payment button to pay the fee.
• After this, the list of all the five programs appears. According to candidate’s eligibility, she/he have to select the program/s by clicking on the check box at the beginning of the program/s you want to fill the form. The total amount to be paid program wise will be shown below the academic program you have chosen. You have to pay the fee by clicking on the button of the payment method you want to pay. Or it the cash has been deposited in the branch of the Himalayan Bank Limited, then the six digits of the voucher should be mentioned and proceed.
• After paying the fees, click on the Basic Information menu, candidate must fill personal details, click on Save and continue, and after mentioning the educational details in the Qualifications section, click on the Save button.
• Click on the Add New button in the Experience section of the profile and mention the details of experience and save the experience details by clicking on the save button.
•  Click on the Add New button in the Professional Council section of the profile and save the details of the council registration of the specialization by mentioning the details along with the documents of the respective country’s council registration.
• Click on the check box foreign category in the Reservation section and save the details along with the documents.
• After profile is ready, candidates can add or correct the details and documents will submitting the form. Candidate can use this profile to fill the application from in the future.
• After updating all the details, application must be submitted to take an account.
• Procedure for submission of application form:
• To submit an application, click on submit Program Application in the Dashboard menu and click on View Details in the educational program you want to apply for, and after checking all the details, click on Submit Application at the end.
• After submitting your form, its information will appear in your profile. If no details are found, an error message will appear and you have to enter your details again and submit the form again through the above process.
• No details can be corrected after submission of the form.

• Provision regarding admit card

Five days before the day of the entrance exam, candidate have to login to own profile, click on the Submit Program Application button on the dashboard, click on the Download Admit Card button and download and print the admit card and must bring along with the entrance examination. Candidates should carefully study and follow all the details mentioned in the admit card.

• Examination centre:  Information & Communication Technology Centre (ICTC), Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk, Lalitpur.

• Entrance examination and admission:
• Once the application is filled, the necessary documents uploading and the self-declaration is to be done. It is advised to review (edit/save) the application before submission. Once the application is submitted, it is not editable.
• Full marks for all programs will be 200. Candidates should score 50^th percentile to qualify for admission. The duration of examination will be three hours.
• The selection of candidates will be done by open house matching process.
• If the number of merit candidates is less than the available seats allocated for candidates, matching will be done only once.
• The remaining seats henceforth will the transferred to Nepaless open seats.
• Candidates who are selected for admission are required to produce original documents during admission in the university/academy.
• Private practice is not allowed during the residency.
• Medical Education Common Entrance Examination Committee reserves all the rights regarding entrance examination.
• Candidates will be responsible for all travel arrangements. Candidates should abide by the current rules and regulation laid down by Government by Nepal.
• Student can be expelled any time (even after admission) if found guilty in submitting fake documents and wrong identity.
