Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences is situated in MatriTole, Kathmandu and is managed by the Welfare Fund of Nepali army and by the Welfare Planning Directorate. Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences Kathmandu is a non-profit medical institution whose directorate consists of relevant staff of the Nepali Army under the leadership of Chief Army Staff.

The Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences provides medical education and training in Nepal to serve its country by providing it with adequate human services/resources in healthcare. This college is affiliated to the Tribhuvan University and has recently released it’s army quota cut-off and merit lists for admission to its courses.

It comprises of three departmental colleges under the name of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences Kathmandu:

  1. College of Medicine
  2. College of Nursing
  3. College of Medical Polytechnic

Resident Nepali students have to take the IOM exam, after they have verified themselves to be in accordance with the age and qualification guidelines of Tribhuvan University.  This entrance is the one which is considered to be the determinant of merit for admission to this college. Students who are applying from foreign countries and Non Resident Nepali students will have to forward their application to the college for perusal and acceptance of their admission into Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences Kathmandu. Such documents will be needed to get authorized from the Ministry of External Affairs of the student’s resident country and by the Embassy of Nepal.

  2. Post Graduate studies in medicine
  3. BNS
  4. B.Sc. Nursing
  5. PCL Nursing
  6. Master of Nursing
  7. Diploma in Pharmacy
  8. Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology
  9. Proficiency Certificate Level in Diagnostic Radiography
  10. Proficiency Certificate Level in Physiotherapy

Meanwhile the Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences has released it’s merit lists for the following courses in Army Quota:

  1. Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
  2. Bachelor of Public Health (BPH)
  3. BNS
  4. B.Sc. Nursing
  5. B.Sc. MLT
