The College of Medical Sciences is located in Bharatpur, Chitwan in Nepal approximately 150 kms. away from Kathmandu. The college was formerly founded in 1993 with the name ‘International Institute of Medical Sciences’ but later in late 1995 the institute was re-established as College of Medical Sciences.
College of Medical Sciences is affiliated to Kathmandu University and is well recognized by the Nepal Medical Council.
The college is a state-of-the-art medical institute with a mission of placements for its students to serve the society and a vision of delivering medical and healthcare aid and diagnostics to the society of people in Nepal and SAARC countries.
College of Medical Sciences provides accommodation, hostel and transportation facilities separate for male and female students. It has an extravagant library and professional faculty of dedicated teachers.
Thousands of students seek to pursue their medical education in College of Medical Sciences but only about 100 of them are entitled for admission out of which 20-25% are nominated by Govt. of Nepal and rest 75-80% are enrolled through compulsory entrance examination of Kathmandu University but they all must be able to fulfill the eligibility criteria of College of Medical Sciences for admission.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in College of Medical Sciences:
- Applicants must reach the age of 17 by the time of admission.
- Students must have passed their higher secondary from an English medium school.
- Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) subjects in their 10+2 examination.
- Applicants must have scored above 50% marks in their PCB subjects in their 10+2 examination.
- Students who scored above 50% marks in all the subjects in their 10+2 examination including P.C.B are eligible for direct admission only to face an interview.
- Candidates securing above 50% marks in their Physics, Chemistry and Biology but marks below 50% in other subjects must appear through common entrance exams.
- Students must pass their NEET Entrance Examination with or more than 117 marks. Students who fail to attain 117 in their NEET examination must qualify through other common entrance examinations.
NEET Entrance Examination Qualification Details for admission in College of Medical Sciences:
- Students who fail to score 117 or above in their NEET entrance examination must qualify compulsory examination for admission.
- Students who pass their NEET entrance examination with more than 117 marks are eligible for direct admission. No Exam/Form compulsory.
Admission Process in College of Medical Sciences:
Applicants after fulfilling the eligibility criteria required for admission in College of Medical Sciences, must go through and fill up the application form correctly and pass the entrance examination, finally the selected candidates must produce before the college certain original proof of documentations at the time of admission to enroll themselves as a student of College of Medical Sciences.
