The Kantipur Dental College Teaching Hospital and Research Center offers the following courses:

  1. MDS(Master of Dental Surgery)
  2. BDS(Bachelor of Dental Surgery)

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS):

This is a 412-year programme with a one-year mandatory internship following the final exams. The BDS programme is also associated with Kathmandu University and is accredited by the Nepal Medical Council and Nepal’s Ministry of Education.

Part I: Basic Medical Sciences and Dental Science courses are taught for the first two years, and Part II: Dental Clinical Sciences subjects, including community dentistry/Medical Clinical Sciences subjects is taught for the remaining two years. If a student does not receive a passing grade in Part I, he or she will not be advanced to Part II.

At least a C+ in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with a minimum of a C in each.

1. Be a member of the Nepal Health Professional Council, Nepal Pharmacy Council, or Nepal Medical Council.

MDS (Master of Dental Surgery):

To be qualified for this three-year programme, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery and be registered with the Nepal Medical Council. He/she/they must have completed a year of medical council internship. He/she/they will next be required to take an entrance exam and an interview, as determined by Kathmandu University, in order to be accepted to the programme, which normally begins in February.

The course fee fluctuates depending on the amount of students from various countries, however it usually ranges between 12 and 15 lac INR.
