Purbanchal University Nepal: Healing Redefined

Situated in, Gothagaun Sundar Haraicha, Biratnagar, Nepal, Purbanchal University is a public university in Nepal that offers courses that was established in 1993 by the Government of Nepal. The university is spread across five campuses and has one hundred and twenty three affiliate colleges.

 The Prime Minister of Nepal is the chancellor of this public university and the Minister of Education, Government of Nepal is the pro-chancellor. The Principal Administrator is the Vice Chancellor of Purbanchal University.

Purbanchal University uses a semester system. The bachelor’s degree is of four years while the masters are of two years and M.Phil programs are of a year and a half duration. All degrees assume studies in English medium interface.

There are six undergraduate and postgraduate faculties under the Purbanchal University:

2. Faculty of Management Studies
3. Faculty of Arts
4. Faculty of Education
5. Faculty of Medical and Allied Sciences (for medical admission in Nepal)
6. Faculty of Law

Purbanchal University Faculty of Medical and Allied Sciences:

The Faculty of Medical and Allied Sciences -FOMAS programs at the Purbanchal University is running the state of the art medical, nursing, public health and pharmacy educational programs in Nepal. This faculty is committed to the quality medical studies in Nepal with innovative coursework, clinical experiences, and research experiences.  A lot of innovations have been carried out in and around the FOMAS programs. The faculty has been constantly updating, upgrading and refuelling the courses and curriculum to keep up with the technologic changes in the field of medicine, develop a more efficient human resource system, as well as expand student’s exposure by offering the curriculum through articulated campuses and exchange programs with internship opportunities.

The FOMAS is about to launch MBBS, BSc MLT, Bsc MIT, BPT and Msc Nursing programs.
