How to get admission in College Of Medical Sciences (COMS)?

Admission to the CMS Nepal is done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Medicine, Kathmandu.

The entrance examination is held every year in the month of June. Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate are eligible to appear for the entrance examination.

The CMS Nepal offers a four-and-a-half-year MBBS course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The course is divided into nine semesters. The first semester comprises of pre-clinical subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, etc.

The second semester comprises of para-clinical subjects like Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, etc. The third and fourth semester comprises of clinical subjects. The fifth semester is devoted to the compulsory rotating internship training in various departments of the college hospital.

The internship training is of one year duration. After the successful completion of the internship training, the students are awarded the MBBS degree. The CMS Nepal also offers postgraduate medical courses like MD, MS, MCh and Diploma courses in various specialties.
