Eligibility for admission to M.B. Kedia Dental College and Teaching Hospital:

The willing candidate must meet the following conditions and criteria in order to be accepted into M.B. Kedia Dental College and Teaching Hospital for the MBBS degree in Nepal. These criteria were established in accordance with Nepal Medical College’s and Tribhuvan University’s rigorous guidelines:

1. The candidate must have reached the age of seventeen.

2. They must have completed their 10+2 standard or Intermediate of Science (I.Sc) with English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as major subjects, with a minimum of 50% in the average aggregate calculated using these major subjects.

OR

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in any of the topics listed: Physics, Chemistry or Biology (B.Sc) from a recognised University, and has studied one other science subject till the ancillary level , with not less than a 50% aggregate and meets the above condition and aggregate requirements of the 10+2 standard.
  • 4. Residents of Nepal must take the TU-IOM (Tribhuvan University-Institute of Medicine) exam, which is used to determine merit for admission to this college, followed by an interview at Tribhuvan University, which is self-funded. Non-resident Nepali students and students from other countries must submit their applications to the college for review and acceptance of their admission to M.B. Kedia Dental College and Teaching Hospital. Such documents will need to be approved by the student’s home country’s Ministry of External Affairs as well as the Nepalese Embassy.

For the first two academic years, M.B. Kedia Dental College and Teaching Hospital focuses on teaching basic medical sciences in Nepal with an emphasis on interdepartmental integration and clinical and community correlation.

Clinical subjects, community medicine, and forensic medicine have been scheduled to be studied over the next one and a half years beginning in the third academic year, while all clinical subjects, as well as health management and community medicine, have been scheduled to begin in the fourth academic yearField experience and junior clinical clerkships continue till the end of Tribhuvan University’s four-and-a-half-year MBBS programme.

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS):

This is a 412-year programme with a one-year mandatory internship following the final exams. The BDS programme is accredited by the Nepal Medical Council and is affiliated with Tribhuvan University.

Part I: Basic Medical Sciences and Dental Science courses are taught for the first two years, and Part II: Dental Clinical Sciences subjects, including community dentistry/Medical Clinical Sciences subjects is taught for the remaining two years. If a student does not receive a passing grade in Part I, he or she will not be advanced to Part II.

The following are the requirements for entrance to this course: (for both national and international applicants)

For forms, prospectuses, and other information, students should contact M.B. Kedia Dental College and Teaching Hospital. Both Nepali and international students will be required to take the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination, with admissions based solely on merit.

Candidates for admission should have the following qualifications (both national and international applicants): 1. Passed 10+2 Science (Biology Group) or Equivalent with at least 50% in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with a total of 50%. OR

At least a C+ in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with a minimum of a C in each Grade in remaining individual subjects along with GPA 2.4 OR

In relation to certificate level programmes (A-Level) with different grading systems, secured the percentage equivalent to above eligibility OR

1. Applicants who have completed the Level /Diploma in Health Science Proficiency

(Medical Laboratory Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science),

Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Radiography, and Physiotherapy) with a National Examination Board Certificate of Equivalence to Grade 12 Science programme AND 1. Achieved at least 50% in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with a total of 50%.

in total marks earned in both the Diploma and the Equivalency Examination AND

1. Be a member of the Nepal Health Professional Council, Nepal Pharmacy Council, or Nepal Medical Council Ayurveda Council as per related educational program.
