Notice for Foreign Candidates Applying for Common Entrance Examination of Postgraduate Level Programs in Health Professional Education

(MECEE – PG – 2024)

Medical Education Commission calls for the online application to select candidates for the following postgraduate level health professional programs run by various Universities, affiliated colleges and health science academies throughout the country. The online application is called from all eligible foreign candidates from 22 November 2023, 10:00 A.M. to 22 December 2023 3:00 P.M. through web portal https://entrance.mec.gov.np/Account/Login.

  • Eligible candidates can apply for more than-one program with separate bank vouchers or online payment through application portal as per the above examination schedule.
  • Details of seat distribution will be published soon on the website. The available seats for foreign candidates in the above academic programs will be up to ten percent of the total seats.
  • All the foreign candidates should fill up the online application form as started within due date.
  • The candidates should choose only one of the following subcategories while filling up the online application form:
  • Subcategory I: Foreign to appear MECEE-PG-2024
  • Subcategory II: Foreign NOT to appear MECEE-PG-2024 but conditionally opt to apply on the basis of obtained rank above 50th percentile (or 50% marks in case the result is in percentage system) in the recently conducted national level common entrance examination of their respective countries. They can select only those seats which remain unfulfilled after a merit-based selection process from Subcategory I.

  • Eligibility
  • Those who appear in the entrance examination conducted by Medical Education Commission will be given the first priority.
  • If the seat falls vacant as stated in clause (a) matching will be done among those who have secured 50th percentile or above (or 50% marks in case the result is in percentage system) in the latest national level medical common entrance examination in their respective countries and agreed the condition to select only those seats which remain unfulfilled after a merit-based selection process from Subcategory I.
  • The remaining seats after completion of the matching of foreign candidates will be transferred to Nepalese paying/open seats.
  • Foreign candidates who are selected for admission are required to produce original documents at the time of admission.
  • Candidates who submit the fake information/documents will be liable for legal action as per prevailing rule and regulations of Nepal.

5.   Required digitized documents

  • Last six digits of transaction reference number (TRN/request unique ID/Transaction code) and applicant mobile number (in case of bank payment)
  • Recent passport size photography.
  • Passport or Aadhaar Card.
  • Scan copy/photo of signature.
  • Transcript and certificates of relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Professional Council registration certificate of respective country.

     6 Quality of applicant’s photo and scanned documents

  1. Photo of applicant
  2. Image file format: The image must be in the Joint Photographic Experts Groups (JPEG) format with good quality.
  3. Image file size: The maximum image file size is 200KB
  4. Resolution: Should NOT be crispy or blurry.

  8. File size: The maximum file size is 200KB for JPEG and 500 KB for PDF.
  9. Procedure for creating online profile and submission of the application
  10. Online profile creation:
  11. Candidates should first create a profile using their email ID, Mobile Number and other information. This profile can also be used in future.
  12. To smart filling up the application form, applicant has to enter the website https://mec.gov.np. Go to Online Application button then click Login button. In the login page, clicks don’t have an account. Register here button.       OR Browse https://entrance.mec.gov.np. Then click login button and go to Don’t have an account? Register here link.
  13. Click on Foreign radio button in Nationality and fill up applicant’s Full Name, Email, Contact Number, Password, Confirm Password and click on Register button to create a user account.
  14. A message for email ID verification will be sent to the email address mentioned while creating profile. After logging into registered email account and clicking on the verification link, email account will be verified and activated.
  15. Candidate has to login by entering the registered email in the user name box and the password (set while registering) in the Password box.
  16. If the email verification message is not received in the registered email, she/he has to login to the account and click on the Resend button and verify the email ID according to the above process.
  17. In order to fill up the online from, candidate needs to create his/her ‘online profile’.
  18. After accessing the online application portal of the common entrance examination, enter the main dashboard.
  19. For creating the profile, candidate has to pay the prescribed fees by clicking on the Make Payment button.
  20. Then the list of academic programs appears. According to candidate’s eligibility, she/he has to select the program/s by clicking on the check box against the desired program. The total amount to be paid will be shown below the table of academic programs. A candidate has to pay the fee by clicking on the button of the payment method s/he wants to pay.
  21. If the cash has been deposited in the counter of the Himalayan Bank Limited, the six digits of the voucher and mobile number should be entered in Update counter payment voucher button to proceed.
  22. Fill up the educational details in the Qualifications menu, click on the Save button.
  23. Foreign candidates can skip the Experience and Professional Council menu.
  24. After paying the fees, click Basis Information menu, candidates must fill personal details, click on Save and continue button.
  25. Click on the checkbox on foreign category in the Recreational menu. The candidate should choose only one of the following subcategories while filling up the online application form:

Subcategory II: Foreign NOT to appear MECEE-PG-2024 (Condition applies)

  • Candidate can add or correct the details and documents until submitting the form and save the details along with the documents.
  • S/he can also use this profile to fill the application form in the future.
  • Submission of application form:
  • Once the application form is filled up, the necessary documents are to be uploaded and the self-declaration is to be done. It is advised to review (edit/save) the application before submission. Once the application is submitted, it is not editable.
  • After uploading all the documents with personal details, click on the Submit Program Application button in the Dashboard menu and click on View Details button to check all the details.
  • The submit the application form, click Submit program Application button on the Dashboard menu, click Apply button. After checking the details, submit the form by clicking Save and Submit Information button.
  • If you need to review your information, just ‘SAVE’ the information initially, No details can be corrected after submission of the form.
  • Finally confirmation page should be downloading from Submit Program Application button.

Admit Card and Exam Center

  • Admit Card will be available online five days prior to the day of the entrance examination. Candidate has to login to the online profile, click on the Application menu on the dashboard, click on View details button, click Download Admit Card link to print the admit card, which must be produced during the entrance examination. Candidates must follow all the instructions mentioned in the admit card.
  • Examination center will be mention in the admit card.
  • Entrance examination and admission
  • There will be 200 MCQs of ‘single best response’ type. One mark will be given for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be dedicated for a wrong answer. The duration of examination will be 3 hours.
  • Candidates should score 50th percentile or above to be in merit list.
  • The selection of candidate will be done by open house matching process.
  • If the number of merit candidates is less than the available seats allocated for foreign candidates, matching will be done only once.
  • There will be separate merit list for each academic program. However, after matching and admission in an academic program, s/he name will be deleted from all the matching process.
  • Candidate who are selected for admission are required to produce original documents during admission in the university/academy.
  • Privet practice is not allowed during the residency.
  • Candidates will be responsible for all travel arrangements. Candidates should abide by the current rules and regulations laid down by Government of Nepal.
  • Medical Education Common Entrance Examination Committee reserves all the rights regarding entrance examination.
  • Regarding the conduct during entrance examination
  • Candidate should appear in the examination center with admit card and original identification document (Passport or Aadhaar card) as mentioned in the online form.
  • Candidate should report as respective examination center at least two hours before the examination.
  • Ornament, jewel, electrical appliance/accessories will not to be allowed in examination hall.
  • Candidate can be examined physically or electronically before entering examination center.
  • No admission is allowed in examination hall after 15 minutes of beginning of examination.
  • No candidates are permitted to leave examination hall before completion of examination hours.
  • Candidate can be rusticated at any time (even after admission) if found guilty of submitting forged documents and wrong identity.
