Medical Education Commission Entrance Exam (MECEE)

MECEE is a Nepal medical entrance exam that is held to allow admission to postgraduate medicine courses in medical colleges in Nepal and institutes approved by the MCI, which is analogous to the NBE in India. MECEE is a popular medical entrance test through which institutes such as the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences and the Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine in Nepal offer MD and MS admission. Indian students must apply for the MECEE exchange programme. Qualified students will be admitted to various specialties at the institution of their choice. MECEE is run by the Nepal Medical Education Council. This is an online exam for admission to participating medical institutes around Nepal. It takes place once a year. The exam will take three hours to complete. Multiple choice questions make up the MECEE questionnaire.

MBBS Admission Process in Nepal

MBBS Eligibility Criteria for MBBS in Nepal

The pupils should be at least 17 years old.

In higher secondary, pupils must achieve a minimum of 50% in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

The kids must have attended an English-medium school or have taken English as a subject.

There is no need for a visa if you have an Indian passport.

Nepal’s MBBS Admissions Process

Indian students must submit a certificate of eligibility to these universities and medical schools in Nepal in order to enrol in an MBBS admission in Nepal. The Medical Council of India is in charge of dispensing this. International students must pass a selection test and will be admitted to various universities based on the results.Students are enrolled in their respective colleges after passing this test, which includes a tough interview process. Students are chosen based on their abilities and grades. Before applying for this course, students must be at least 17 years old. Despite the fact that different medical schools have varied requirements, it is generally required to graduate high school with topics such avast apnee as English, physics, chemistry, and biology. It is important to achieve a minimum score of 50% in these topics. A copy of the final test and a copy of the grade sheet are required documentation. A copy of the passport must be given, as well as recent photographs and a medical certificate to the respective medical college for MBBS admission in Nepal.

A. MBBS Course Durations: 4.5 Year + 1 Year Internship

• The candidate should have Passed 10+2 Science containing Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% aggregate in total marks or GPA 2.4 or Secured the percentage equivalent to above eligibility in regards to the certificate level programs (eg. A-Level) with different grading system.
• For Srilankan Students: Minimum “C” grades and “D” grades for international boards (EDEXCEL/Cambridge etc.), at the ‘A” level or equivalent examination.
• Age should be at least 17 years by the last date of submission of application are eligible to apply in the MBBS or BDS course

• are 02 ways of admission in Nepal. One through Entrance Education conducted by Medical Education Commission & Another Direct admission through NEET score of current year.

A.1 Through Entrance examination Conducted by MEDICAL EDUCATION COMISSION 

• The Candidates who wish to study MBBS in Nepal at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Science, Dharan; Institute of Medical Science (IOM), Kathmandu; Patan academy of health science, Kathmandu; Karnali Academy of Health Science, Karnali, Nepalese Army Institute of Health Science, Kathmandu & Kathmandu University School of Medical Science , Kathmandu  need to appear this entrance examination .
• All candidates should score at least 50% in the entrance examination to qualify for being in the merit list.
• The allocation of seat & college will be done through “MATCHING “Mechanics as per the Merit and priority order selected by the candidate by Medical Education Commission (MEC)

Exam are conducted only at Centers of Nepal so students need to travel to Nepal to appear for examination conducted by MEC.

A.2 Directly through NEET Score for Indian Students

• Students who are looking for direct admission in any of the Private medical can get admission based on NEET Qualifying score of India.
• Only Current Academic year NEET score will be considered for admission.
• The General Category minimum NEET score will only be considered for admission.

Note: If Applicants applying through Medical Entrance Examination are compared to Direct NEET Admission then the Priority will be given to such candidates who has qualified Entrance Examination conducted by MEC.

B. Application form for the admission into Medical colleges in Nepal is available in the month of September / October which can be collected from our Authorized Centers in India & Aboard.

• Recent Passport size picture
• 10^th, 12^th Marksheet – attested with Notary lawyer / authorized signatory like Principal
• Application Fee charge of INR 5000 /- payable to Medical Education Commission, Nepal.
