National Academy of Medical Sciences University of Nepal was previously known as Bir Hospital. It was established in the year 1889 and the present name was given on the hospital 114 years of completion in 2002. This was the first hospital to provide basic healthcare education to the students. The government of Nepal took the initiative to build the hospital with the aim of providing quality medical professionals to serve the country.
